Innovate, Showcase, and expand your reach: Strategies to elevate your institutional content

Join us for the Digital Commons International Conference 2024, scheduled for October 7th-8th and the Institutional Repository Manager Certification Course on October 9th-10th in Berkeley, California. This event marks a significant milestone as we bring together librarians, researchers, and research leaders from across the globe to Berkeley, a hub renowned for its forward-thinking atmosphere.

Presentation Proposals

The call for proposals is now open and this is your chance to be part of an enriching and collaborative event. Elsevier welcomes proposals from the Digital Commons community that share insights, expertise, and innovative ideas.

Theme: Innovate, Showcase, and expand your reach: Strategies to elevate your institutional content

Submission deadline: July 26th, 2024
If your proposal is approved, you will receive an e-mail from the Conference Content Review Committee during the last week of July.

We invite proposals on, but not limited to, the following topics:

  • Strategies for showcasing institutional content in your repository
  • The future of repository trends and technologies
  • Preserving institutional knowledge in the digital age
  • Promoting institutional content best practices and case studies
  • Engaging your institutional communities across the globe
  • Data management and analytics for institutional repositories
  • Accessibility in institutional content and ensuring inclusivity
  • Digital Humanities in institutional content
  • Collaborative content creation: tools and techniques
  • Content curation: strategies for organizing and presenting institutional collections
  • Communities: research information exchange at a regional or national level
  • Partnership and innovation (Industry and Academia)

Submit Your Proposal

You may submit more than one proposal. Please complete and submit a separate form for each proposal. You can make modifications to your submission; however, please be advised that final submissions are due by July 26, 2024.

When submitting your proposal please have the following:

  • Presentation title
  • Names, institutions, and titles of presenter and any co-presenters
  • Presenter bio and the bios of any co-presenters (up to 150 words each)
  • Presentation abstract (up to 250 words)
  • Desired length of your presentation (Lightning Talks will be 7 mins, plus a group Q&A at the end of the session and other presentations can be 20 or 30 mins, including the Q&A)
  • A brief summary of why you think the presentation would be of interest to members of the DC community
