Description

In this presentation, we will provide some theoretical considerations on strategies in increasing international visibility of the journal; we will also illustrate our reflections with the example of the Journal of Sustainable Mining (ISSN 2300-3960), a journal published by the Central Mining Institute in Katowice, Poland.

Magdalena Bemke-Świtilnik

Magdalena Bemke-Świtilnik is a researcher and head of the Centre for Information Science in Central Mining Institute (Glowny Instytut Gornictwa) in Poland. She is the managing editor of The Sustainable Mining Journal. She received her PhD degree from the Silesian University in Katowice (Poland) in 2018. She is an author and reviewer of scientific papers and her main area of expertise is bibliometrics. She also has experience in publishing as a managing editor. She is a co-creator of the development strategy for the Journal of Sustainable Mining. The previous title of this Journal was Polish-language and associated only with the local community. Now, it is indexed in Scopus and well-recognized among worldwide contributors and reviewers.

Marcin Hylewski

Marcin Hylewski is a graduate of Inter-Faculty Individual Studies in Humanities and PhD student of Sociology at the University of Silesia. He is the author of over twenty scientific articles and a speaker at numerous conferences. Marcin is interested in the sociology of literature and culture, the sociology of politics and political thought. Currently, he prepares a dissertation on the issue of social censorship in the literary field on the example of Józef Mackiewicz's works. Since 2019, as an assistant editor, he has been a part of the Journal of Sustainable Mining team in Central Mining Institute (Glowny Instytut Gornictwa) in Poland.
