Description

In this session, Jean Ducrot, a senior member of Elsevier's digital accessibility team, will share details about Elsevier's long history of collaborating with librarians worldwide on accessibility. He'll discuss how his team works closely not only with product teams across Elsevier but also with many of its portfolio companies' product teams, such as Digital Commons, and how these relationships are mutually beneficial. Jean will also address recent changes to Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and their impact on librarians, as well as provide insights to help you better prepare for the challenges ahead.

Speaker Details

Jean Ducrot is an inclusive technologist with over 20 years of software development experience. For the past decade, he has collaborated closely with developers, designers, product owners, and QA engineers to enhance digital accessibility throughout the product lifecycle. Jean has worked for or consulted with companies of all sizes—from startups like Interfolio to industry giants such as Pearson, Amazon, and Wells Fargo. He is currently pursuing a Master's in Human-Computer Interaction at the Rochester Institute of Technology and has been serving as a Senior Accessibility Specialist at Elsevier since January 2024.
