With the advent of online, open access, and digital options, journals can now create their own communities of editors, authors, and readers. This session will discuss choices journal editors and publishers can make to develop and manage these communities.

Ronald J. Chenail
Dr. Chenail is the Editor-in-Chief of The Qualitative Report. Since the journal started in 1990, Dr. Chenail and his editorial community has published papers by authors from 93 different countries. He is also Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Divorce and Remarriage. Previously, he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Marital and Family Therapy (JMFT), the flagship research journal of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and Associate Editor with Family Business Review. He is an editorial board member of Qualitative Research in Psychology; American Journal of Family Therapy, Contemporary Family Therapy, and Qualitative Social Work; as well as a founding editorial board member of Qualitative Inquiry. In addition to his editorial work, Dr. Chenail is Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Professor of Family Therapy at Nova Southeastern University.
