Louise Curtis
Louise Curtis, Senior Vice President, STM Journals, is responsible for Elsevier’s journal portfolio in Life Sciences and Social Sciences. With a background in Chemistry/Materials Science she joined Elsevier in 1999 and has experience in a variety of publishing roles while based in the Netherlands, U.K. and U.S.A. At the core of her publishing roles has been journal growth and new launches, often in collaboration with scholarly societies and research institutes. Louise was responsible for the inaugural publishing partnership between Elsevier and the Institution of Chemical Engineers, and more recently as part of the team working in collaboration with the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB) to publish their titles under the gold open access model from 2021. As part of Elsevier’s Research without Borders programme and the NLM/NIH-supported African Journal Partnership Programme Louise has spent time in Ethiopia working with editorial teams to develop health and medical titles.
