Providing access and support for Open Educational Resources (OER) has increasingly become a critical imperative for libraries. Institutional Repositories can offer a very natural fit for OER initiatives. In this webinar 2022 Digital Commons IR All-Stars Helena Marvin and Jessica Ryan team up to talk about all things relating to OER in the IR. Drawing on their experiences working with campus faculty, students, and broader community, they share insights, tips, and touch on some broader trends including open pedagogy . Topics include: Why OER is a good fit for the IR? How you can support OER at your institution as an IR manager? How OER benefits the IR and vice versa? Speakers Helena Marvin is the institutional repository, OER librarian and a reference librarian at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, since 2016. She is a longtime user and advocate of open source software and free culture. She feels very lucky that she works to share open access articles, open data and open educational resources professionally. Jessica Ryan is the Scholarly Communications Librarian at Smith College. She has managed Smith’s institutional repository for scholarly work, ScholarWorks, since 2017. She loves to share knowledge and information and to advocate for better sharing for a better planet.
